Moves is a fintech brand we launched to offer low-interest loans to support gig workers (like rideshare drivers and food couriers). Moves does not rely on traditional credit checks and will have no impact on the credit scores traditionally used by the big banks. Instead, Moves is building a future of financial services that respects the increasingly independent way people choose to make a living that supports their mobility.

Without relying on outdated credit scores, our products are designed so that we can get to know our users better over time, and help them establish a new financial reputation. Moves’ low-interest loans have been designed specifically for gig workers, and our product offerings will be expanding to continue supporting their progress and mobility. Moves is built on The Open Application Network’s blockchain protocol.

As a Senior Developer and member of the Engineering team, you will be dedicated to building our flagship product and ultimately, you'll be designing and building the first generation of mobile apps connected to the Open Application Network. Developers are at the center of our ecosystem and to be successful, we need mobile developers that have a passion for pushing mobile applications to the limits and that are motivated to solve the real problems.

We are looking for people who have previous experience with building applications, and a knack for understanding technology, stacks (particularly React/React Native) and how the best products are built. You'll pick up our existing mock-ups and take them to the next level. With that in mind, here's an example of opportunities that you'll get in this role:

  • Work with a talented, driven team, focused on the strategy and execution.
  • Mentor, coach and continue developing leadership and management skills
  • Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release and support)
  • Produce fully functional mobile applications writing clean code that is maintainable, testable and high performance
  • Define and design application components and develop new features and user interfaces from wireframe models
  • Write unit and UI tests as part of your code to identify malfunctions (TDD)
  • Support, troubleshoot and debug to optimize performance
  • Design interfaces to improve user experience
  • Work closely with product development team to plan new features
  • Research and suggest new mobile products, applications and protocols
  • Stay up-to-date with new technology trends

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of proven professional experience as a mobile developer and front-end developer, 7+ years of software development experience
  • Experience with different mobile and web development frameworks i.e. ReactJS, React Native, Apache Cordova, Ionic etc.
  • Ideally, have built applications from the ground up all the way to public launch and also maintain a portfolio of released applications in the App store or Google Play
  • Must have experienced integrated applications with mobile hardware and mobile sensors, like GPS/location services and Bluetooth.
  • Proficiency with writing automated tests in JUnit, Espresso, Mocha, Jest, Enzyme, XCTest, etc., write unit and UI tests as part of your code to identify malfunctions (TDD)
  • Experience using and integrating with third-party libraries and APIs
  • Experience working in an iterative software development environment - Agile, SAFE, Scrum, etc.
